FINDING HER EDGE S1 SEASON REVIEW 😊

FINDING HER EDGE is the prequel to the upcoming Winter Olympics with all the exciting ice skating competitions. The series was also a festival of endless rom-com teenage hook-ups along with highly emotional, dramatic, tantrum-filled segments. It was a mixed bag mingled between watching several beautiful ice dancing routines spliced over listening to the family dynamics of raising three girls with a widower dad. 

For me, the writing was repetitive and often did not hold my utmost attention. I was appalled by the actions of the dad played by Harmon  Walsh, yet everyone seemed to be under his spell. There wasn’t any real moments. It was mostly all exploring top layers. Often when the dialogue shifted deeper, something or someone would interrupt the stream of conversation. It was surface exploration about grief, anxiety, PTSD, fitting in, lost love, unrequited love, and huge financial problems. Still, I watched every episode hoping for more while enjoying the fleeting skating routines. Like I said before…it was a true mixed bag. 

FINDING HER EDGE could have been so much more especially with Madelyn Keys as the lead focus portraying Adriana, the middle sister. It ended with a possible cliffhanger for another season, and it did rev me up for the Olympics, so that was a good thing. I will be happy to watch some true champions without all the drama/trauma. It is streaming on Netflix.
