FALLING FOR CHRISTMAS is predictable and humorless. However, it does showcase Lindsay Lohan in a role she was meant to be cast. Another mean, rich girl who, of course, will be “reinvented” as a saccharin, sweet girl next door. And it does not matter if your name is Sara or Sierra.

I really enjoy holiday rom-coms, but only if they are plausible and contain a fun, entertaining script. This film failed on both accounts. First, it needed more depth and emotion to make the ending “pay off.” Everything was way too easy and picture-perfect, even for a Christmas movie.

The men in FALLING FOR CHRISTMAS needed to be hunkier. Who would ever have deep feelings for Tad (George Young?) He was over-the-top in every scene he was featured. As for Jake (Chord Overstreet), he was just “meh.” The writers really missed an opportunity to give them more authenticity.

Lindsay did look great, especially in that red slip-style dress. But looking good is not interesting or compelling. (How did I make it all the way to the end?) I always said I have patience and usually lead with the benefit of the doubt, but not this time. So all I have to say is, “ugh.”

FALLING FOR CHRISTMAS is not worth your time, especially during the busy holiday season. It is available to stream or not on NETFLIX.
