CENTRAL PARK S2E8 SIR BRICKS-A-LOT 😊

After last week’s flashback episode, audiences get a flash-forward episode, told through each of the Tillerman family member’s points of view. While not earth-shattering, it’s an improvement with catchier jingles, a unique LEGO-inspired style animation, and genuinely complex paths forward for each of our protagonists.

My favorite of the four flash-forward inspiring looks into the future was Paige’s (Kathryn Hahn) take on becoming a famous writer. Her hilarious “Hunter Gather” novel themes clash with a “MISERY” spoof and somehow include an ode to the cleanliness of a Nancy Meyers film! For the handful of people that get the references, it’s pure musical comedy gold.

Musicals are hard. Almost as hard as “drawing a turtle playing basketball underwater Garfield style.” I’m still highly mixed on season two of CENTRAL PARK. However, a show trying to accomplish a difficult genre with animation has my mild thumbs up to ride this out to the end.

Here’s to more Tillerman’s and less Bitsy next week on Apple TV+.
