And just like that, my fears are confirmed with CENTRAL PARK focusing on the “mean and the ugly.” Bitsy is the big bad, and seeing her in a race against her brother Ambrose to publish her childhood memoir falls flat. Unfortunately, this primary story is not interesting enough to hold the viewer’s attention. Last year, we had a complete story with Bitsy vs. Central Park; this year, there’re minor one-off episodes that don’t add up.
Elsewhere, Owen gets to meet up with his childhood inspiration, only to be disappointed predictably. The brilliant Keith David makes a fun cameo as the Ward. His silky smooth singing voice almost saves the episode, yet without enough “Beauty and Grace” this week, the world of CENTRAL PARK was not an amazing place.
