CARRY-ONÂ is an exciting, improbable action thriller. Once all the players are in place, the action becomes nonstop, and the best part is that no one is safe to live another day. This is my kind of intriguing, explosive storytelling.Â
Ethan (Taron Egerton) and Traveler (Jason Bateman) lead audiences on an intense chase through the back doors of LAX airport on Christmas Eve. Crowds, bumpy chutes, humongous airplane hangers, and parking lots become places for long-distance running. Ethan’s reactions are heart-pumping moments. His facial expressions are all we need to suspend our disbelief and jog beside him. Traveler is the perfect, evil, extremely calm, cold-blooded bad dude. The ensemble includes Sophia Carson, the beautiful, trusting love interest, and Dean Norris and Danielle Deadwyler. Great casting.Â
CARRY-ON is pure escapism. It will make viewers wonder how their luggage makes it to the correct destination in one piece. The film has holes, but it still creates fun entertainment.Â
CARRY-ON is streaming on Netflix.
