BRIDGERTON PART ONE S4 E1-4 😊

My dearest gentle reader…BRIDGERTON is back. It only took two years in-between seasons, but hey, it was worth the weight if you are a fan and have read all eight books written by Julia Qui that the series is based upon.  Gentle readers…can you feel my passion and excitement?

BRIDGERTON dropped the first four episodes of its fourth season. The final four will air on February 26th. It has already been renewed for two more seasons so that it will hopefully complete the story of all eight BRIDGERTON children as they seek to find their true loves. It can only mean oodles of opportunities to watch, lusty, sexy scenes while the infamous eight carve their Individual paths during the 19th century in stunning England.

This season is all about Benedict, (Luke Thompson) the second male son of an opulent family. Their mansions are lavish, exquisite and stunning. The costumes are gorgeous. The attention details are outrageous. And I cannot say enough about the wigs, especially the Queen’s. I do not understand how she can walk, sit or bend while wearing such catapulted creations. The masquerade ball was enticing, and all the promenading could easily get over 10,000 steps in every day. It was an explosion of visual delights.

The casting is sublime bringing back old favorites including Dame Julie Andrews as the narrator. Hearing her succinct voice never gets old.

My one complaint is they are veering away from the original books. I felt like I was watching a remake of CINDERELLA for the umpteenth time. I am and always will be a fan of Quinn’s originals. I don’t know why it was necessary to leave so much out. Quinn’s breathy and heart pounding chapters always made tingle with anticipation. Yet, “pinnacle” banter is always welcome.

BRIDGERTON delivered. It was not as perfect as season one, but then nothing could ever top your first. Right? Have fun while watching. It is not to be taken too seriously as we watch a society of the insanely wealthy spend their leisure-filled days and nights. It is streaming on Netflix.
