Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa and Ros̩ Рthe four members of the wildly popular BLACKPINK Рcame together to put on a massive, first ever live performance, aptly named THE SHOW, following the release of their debut album, THE ALBUM.

There was intense choreography, there were vocals, hits and new songs, surprises along with the incredibly intricate production that is a hallmark of korean pop performances. There is a fire in BLACKPINK that is missing from many other popular groups at the moment that is so evident in their music and performances, and it blazed uncontrollably over the hour and a half performance.

The few ways THE SHOW fell short – set length, many songs went unperformed, odd editing – are counterbalanced by the highs of reworked old songs, never-before-seen stages and new music aplenty. This is one of the first genuine instances that an online concert has made me wish I could have been there in person. I loved every minute!

BLACKPINK: THE SHOW will be rebroadcasted on YouTube on 2/7 and 2/14. Tickets are available on their YouTube channel.
