BLACK DOVES is as exciting, compelling, and outstanding as critics say. It fills the hole and overflowing that all spy thriller fans long to see on screen. I binged the entire series in one afternoon and evening. I could not stop myself. It was not that each of the six episodes ended with a cliffhanger, but rather, the story was intriguing and had me invested and committed from the first five action-packed minutes. It’s just that good.Â
Keira Knightley and Ben Whishaw lead the extraordinary, talented ensemble. Their scenes together were the best due to their polite, one-line zingers of sarcasm. I could quote a hundred examples, but what’s the point of stealing the viewer’s joy of discovery? Let’s just say… it was perfectly written. I adored the entire ensemble as well. Kudos to Sarah Lancashire, Andrew Buchanan, Andrew Koji, and Omari Douglas. They were marvelous and had me on the edge of my seat, wondering who was being truthful. It was such a crazy roller coaster ride filled with major violence, death, and love. No one was safe, and holy cow, so much carnage. Unbelievably fantastic.Â
BLACK DOVES is must-see tv. It is pure escapism…or does this happen daily in real life, and we just don’t know it. After all, “when one door closes, a window opens.” Whatever the case, watch this series. You are welcome.Â
