BIG MISTAKES S1 REVIEW ๐Ÿ˜Š

Dan Levy (SCHITTโ€™S CREEK) is the creator, writer, and star (Nicky) of the new dark comedy, crime series, BIG MISTAKES. It boasts a great cast, including the incomparable Laurie Metcalf (THE CONNORS, TOY STORY) as the pushy mom, Linda. It is a frustrating series to watch unfold, as the characters make mistake after mistake, building to an untenable conclusion and a cliffhanger.

BIG MISTAKES was at times difficult to watch due to its frenetic, shouting style of getting the necessary plot and character information. At times, the show showered audiences with caustic, bombastic dialogue featuring loud, screaming voices between Nicky and his sister, Morgan (Taylor Ortega). Be prepared. This is all I can say, except you might have to fight off the urge to throw your remote at the screen while watching.  Have these characters ever heard the phrase, โ€œMake good choicesโ€ before? I sincerely doubt it. It is truly one fiasco after another as Nicky and Morgan get trapped in a huge web of poor decisions and circumstances.

BIG MISTAKES was not easy for me to finish. I know every good, intriguing plot must contain strong obstacles to overcome. For me, this truly took too much of a suspension of disbelief. Part of the problem was that I never really grew to love or respect anyone as I did in SCHITTโ€™S CREEK. My empathy tank was at zero most of the time, but if you like stupid choices and behavior, this could be your favorite new series. It is streaming on Netflix.
