AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER is an old story meant for the young at heart who believe anything is possible. It is filled with tons of action, fighting scenes, and necessary information that keeps the plot moving forward.Â
The special effects and CGI were the best features of the series. Seeing all the elements in life in such danger was exciting. Water, earth, fire, and air can be overwhelming forces that need balance to achieve harmony. Aang, THE LAST AIRBENDER gets it, but he has much to learn to save the world. I found his performance very young and annoying at times. He has an adorable face but does not project the necessary power and control to be a leader. He was written too wishy-washy, and not confident in his destiny.Â
I felt there was too much teenage angst and drama trauma that got solved too quickly. I did enjoy visiting the spirit world whenever possible and hearing from the wiser, older men. Their characters had more oomph in their delivery.Â
AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDERÂ ended with a second season in mind to complete the story. The series was just okay and I am not sure I will be continuing this young audience journey with the rest of the group. It is streaming on Netflix.Â
