ADOLESCENCE SERIES REVIEW 🤩

ADOLESCENCE is a fascinating, extremely well-done British limited series. In just four episodes, my heart was broken repeatedly, and brought to my knees with this compelling story of a thirteen-year-old boy. I don’t want to give anything away. It deserves to be watched with no preconceived ideas or theories. I can say, as a parent, it grips your soul and makes you ponder if you did enough. Was I a good parent?  

Each episode is told from a different perspective over a year. The acting was superb. It felt like I was watching real people go through a horrible event. The actor’s nuances, subtle facial expressions, and physicality were like being in an advanced acting class. Their commitment to “go there” was brilliant. They all deserved a standing O, especially to Owen Coope and Stephan Graham. Incredible performances. 

The writing depicted the class and character with a genius touch. They did not shy away from anything. Kudos. The story pulled me in instantly, and I could not stop binging. I wanted to know the outcome. No, I needed to know. 

ADOLESCENCE is intelligent, powerful TV viewing. It is not easy to see, and it definitely stirs the pot of parenthood, especially within the boundaries of our current society. Don’t miss this dramatic, riveting tale.
