ABBOTT ELEMENTARY was a stroll down memory lane of old, lost, and inappropriate Halloween traditions. Change is always imminent, while cultural icons can often be brushed aside. Barbara (Sheryl Lee Ralph) is confused by razor blades and nuts. Where is Patrick Sajak when you need him most?Ā
The humor in COSTUME CONTEST felt flat. The characters were all very whiney and self-absorbed, and the pacing and bantering were slower than usual. Perhaps it would have been better not to do a Halloween-themed installment.Ā
I am still a huge fan of ABBOTT ELEMENTARY, but this week was not as creative as usual, even with the mosquito and DNA genes. There are a million stories to be told and shared about teachers. Please get back on track quickly.Ā
