ABBOTT ELEMENTARY S3E6 WILLARD R. ABBOTT 😊

ABBOTT ELEMENTARY started off this episode with a huge guest appearance. It was a fun, humorous bit that I wish could have been carried out longer or at least revisited at the conclusion to tie it all together. There were definitely two distinctly different storylines going on.

WILLARD R. ABBOTT had a past, and it was impossible to overlook. Plaques are “political,” and sometimes it is just not feasible to “free Willy” into something he is not. Janine (Quinta Brunson) is like a dog with a bone. She can’t let go and has to make it right. Good intentions are not always enough.

What I loved about this installment was the reminder of what teachers do every day. They teach the best they can with what they have. The public needs to be reminded often, and the writers continue to showcase what makes a teacher enough and still special. It is a tribute to those who walk those hallowed halls and classrooms. It is imperative to remember the shoulders we all stand upon, especially within a black community. Kudos.

ABBOTT ELEMENTARY documents small moments during the life of a teacher. It reinforces the “why” behind choosing a difficult career and shares the simple rewards highlighted in a “show and tell” activity. It is available on ABC and Hulu.
